What is Injection Molding?

Injection molding is a manufacturing process used to produce precise, cost-effective parts, typically from plastics, in high volumes.

The process involves injecting molten material into a custom-designed mold, which defines the part’s shape. Once the material cools and solidifies, the mold opens and the part is ejected.

This process is ideal for creating complex parts with tight tolerances, making it popular in industries like automotive, medical devices, and consumer goods.

From prototyping to production, quality is guaranteed

The quality and on-time delivery of your parts is guaranteed by Jiga. Jiga is ISO 9001:2015 and ISO/IEC 90003 certified. Our partners are AS 9100D and ISO 13485:2016 certified with ITAR & EAR options on demand.

Injection Molding FAQs

What injection molding services are provided?

Plastic Injection Molding, Overmolding (adding rubber/silicone or other over an existing part), and Insert Molding (integrating pre-formed inserts into the part). Learn more here

Jiga supports a wide range of thermoplastics, including ABS, POM, ASA, HDPE, HIPS, LDPE, Nylon, PBT, PC/ABS, PEEK, PET, and polycarbonate, as well as specialty options like glass-filled materials.

A variety of finishes are offered, following SPI and PM standards (such as SPI-C1, SPI-B1, PM-T0, and more). Additional finishing options may also be available depending on your tooling and material choice.

Injection molding typically has a higher upfront cost due to mold tooling, but it becomes cost-efficient at scale. Jiga utilizes rapid tooling to reduce lead times, enabling faster iteration.

All molded parts come with strict quality control, including ISO-certified processes, Certificates of Conformance (CoC), First Article Inspection (FAI), CMM reports, material certificates, and RoHS compliance.
